How to Crochet a Chevron Blanket

I designed this free chevron blanket crochet pattern to be the kind of project that you can really enjoy from start to finish. I’ll guide you step-by-step through how to make a chevron blanket, whether you’re making a sweet baby version, a cozy 70s-inspired throw, or something in between.

This is a great project for confident beginners ready to stretch their skills, and it’s equally fun for easy-to-intermediate crocheters who want something relaxing but still a little exciting.

I used a medium-weight acrylic yarn for my chevron blanket, specifically Hobbii Amigo XL, because it’s soft, durable, and easy to care for. The breathable, lacy texture gives it a light and airy feel while still being warm enough to snuggle under.

You can make your blanket in a single color for a classic look, or mix two colors to create a soft, faded ombre effect like mine.
