About the Reversible Velvet Cowl Crochet Pattern
Okay, let me tell you about this reversible crochet cowl. It’s one of those projects you’ll want to wear the second you finish it. It’s made with that super soft velvet bulky yarn that feels amazing around your neck and works up beautifully thick and cozy.
The best part? It’s completely reversible. You get two gorgeous colors in one cowl, and the doubled-up fabric makes it extra warm for those chilly winter days. It’s chunky, modern, and has the prettiest ridges and texture that really stand out.
Even better, it’s a simple and easy pattern with nothing fussy or complicated. Just a comfy, neck warmer that feels like a stylish scarf alternative but without all the extra bulk hanging down. And yes, the Reversible Velvet Cowl crochet pattern is free!

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, hdcblo across.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, hdc across.
Row 4 – Row 39: Rep Row 2 & 3

Lay your piece flat with the ridges facing up, and fold in half so Row 1 and Row 40 are lined up and the ridges are on the inside. Working into both rows, sc across. Turn inside out so the textured ridges are on the outside.
Fasten off.
With second color
Repeat instructions for second color, do not turn inside out at the end.
Assembly
Make sure that the ridges are facing out on one piece, and facing in on the second piece. This will create a reversible cowl that always has the textured look.
Slip the piece that has the ridges facing in into the piece with the ridges facing out. (See photos below).

Choose one of the colors and attach yarn into the end of Row 1 with a sl st. Sc around entire opening to secure two panels together. Fasten off.

Repeat for second side. Weave in all ends and enjoy your cowl!
