About the Free Shayla Shawl

Free Shayla Triangle Shawl Crochet Pattern

With a variety of textures and stitches, this Free Shayla Shawl Triangle Scarf Crochet Pattern is fun to make and fun to wear! I can't wait to make more in a variety of colors.

With the Mandala Yarn, you'll have a lightweight triangle shawl that is perfect for a triangle scarf. But don't worry, this lacy and modern design works up great with a medium weight yarn if you prefer something a little bigger and heavier. You just need to adjust the hook size to a "J" 6.0mm.

Whether you're a beginner or at an easy to intermediate level, this crochet pattern offers a rewarding project with step-by-step instructions and a detailed tutorial for ladies looking to create a warm, stylish accessory.

About the yarn

The Shayla Shawl Triangle Scarf is a fantastic one skein project when using a single cake of Lion Brand Mandala yarn. This triangle scarf crochet pattern calls for a main color and an alternate color, so I separated my cake into colors and controlled the changes to achieve the look I wanted.

To complete this triangular scarf crochet pattern, you'll also need an "I" 5.5mm crochet hook. It's a fun and modern project that results in a lacy, warm accessory perfect for women looking to add a stylish shawl to their collection.

Finishing Touches:

  • Weave in all ends

  • Block your shawl according to fiber.

  • For Mandala yarn, steam block with a hand-held steamer (being careful not to hold heat in the same place for more than a few seconds. Acrylic yarn will melt); or lay shawl on an ironing board and cover with a wet towel, then hover a warm iron above the towel.

  • For wet blocking, soak your shawl in warm water with fiber wash. Lay out on blocking mats or towels and shape shawl making sure all stitches are even and not pulled to tight. Pin in place if desired for a crisp look. Allow to dry before removing.
