How to Crochet a Mosaic Headband
The Illusions Mosaic Headband is a simple, easy-to-follow free crochet patttern, perfect for beginners! The pattern includes both a chart and written instructions.
You can make this headband to fit you perfectly as it includes instructions for two sizes (medium and small women’s).
The best part… the crochet headband is worked in the round making it seamless. Plus, you can carry the yarn throughout the design to completely avoid a lot of ends to weave in once your done.
To crochet this mosaic headband, you’ll need a 3.5mm crochet hook, stitch markers, a sewing needle, and super fine fingering yarn like Hobbii Unicorn Solid yarn.
About the yarn
To make my Illusions Mosaic Headband, I used Hobbii Unicorn Solid, a hand dyed super fine weight yarn in Teal and Cream.

- Small Adult: 18” (45 cm) circumference x 4” (10 cm) height
- Medium Adult:20” (50 cm) circumference x 4” (10 cm) height
Terminology (US Terms):
- blo: back loop only
- ch: chain
- dc: double crochet
- flo: front loop only
- ldc: long double crochet: double crochet in the front loop of the st 2 rnds below.
- rep: repeat
- rnd: round
- RS: Right Side
- sc: single crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
- st(s): stitch(es)
Notes:
- Each row is worked in only one color, do not change color in the middle of a row.
- Work sl st at the end of the round in the blo.
- Change color in the sl st to join at the end of the rnd, carrying the yarn up on the inside of the work.
- Unless otherwise noted sc sts are worked into the blo and ldc sts are worked into the front loop only of the st 2 rnds below.
- Read chart from right to left, and bottom to top.
- When reading the chart, the entire row will be worked in the color shown on the row number, not the color of the boxes. The color of the boxes is to show the finished design.
- If the box on the chart row has a triangle, you will work a ldc, if it does not have a triangle, you will work a sc in blo.
