Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Brown, White, Black, and Bright Yellow

5.0mm H Hook

3.75mm F Hook

Needle for weaving in ends

Scissors


Abbreviations (US Terms):

Ch: Chain

SC: Single Crochet

SC2TOG: Single Crochet 2 stitches together

HDC: Half Double Crochet

HDCBLO: Half Double Crochet Back Loop Only

DC: Double Crochet

TRC: Treble Crochet

SLST: Slip Stitch

F/O: Finish Off

Notes:

Using 5.0mm H Hook for the body of the cuff.

For stability, when working the BLO stitches work through the 2nd and 3rd loops of the HDC of previous round.

Free Boot Cuff Crochet Pattern: Child Size


Boot Cuffs:

Make 2

Height: 4.25”, Circumference: 7”

Round 1: Foundation HDC 24, SLST into first stitch making sure not to twist, ch1 (24)

Round 2: HDCBLO into the same stitch as join and around, SLST into first stitch, ch1 (24)

Rounds 3 - 11: Repeat Round 2, SLST, ch1 (24)

Round 12: SC 8, HDC, DC, HDC, SC 2, HDC, DC, HDC, SC 8, SLST, ch1 (24)

Round 13: SC 9, 3SC, SC 4, 3SC, SC 9, SLST, F/O. (28)

Owl Eyes:

Make 4

3.75mm F Hook

Round 1: With Black, work 4 SC into a magic circle, pull tight, SLST, change to yellow ch1 (4)

Round 2: 2SC into each stitch around, SLST, change to White, ch1 (8)

Round 3: *2SC, SC* repeat around, SLST, F/O leaving a long tail to attach (12)

Owl Beak:

Make 2

3.75mm F Hook

Row 1: Ch 3, SC in 2nd Ch and across, ch1, turn. (2)

Row 2: SC2TOG, ch1, turn. (1)

Row 3: SC, F/O leaving a long tail to attach (1)

Owl Face:

Secure eyes to the front of the cuff, the side with the points for the ears, secure beak slightly below and between the eyes.


Owl face on the Free Boot Cuff Crochet Pattern

Tuft:

Make 4

child size 3 pieces (1 yellow, 2 brown)

Take pieces of yarn no more than 6” in length and pull through the middle SC at top of ears to create a loop. Pull the ends through the loop and pull tight to secure.





Using the end of your large needle separate the yarn strands on the tufts, trim to desired length.
