About the Yarn
I had the pleasure of collaborating with Fatima of Aquarius Make using her hand dyed yarn for this project, and I am so pleased with the finished garment.
Fatima is a small batch Indy yarn dyer who offers her yarn in many different bases and has ready to ship as well as dyed to order options. I used Fatima’s DK weight 75% Superwash Merino wool, 25% nylon base in two colorways from her Spring collection to make my vest. They were both beautifully dyed. The blue and pink one is called Silver Bush, and the pink one is Peony.
When working with the yarn I was impressed with the softness and quality of the fiber as well as the colors Fatima achieved. I knew I wanted to make a vest with this beautiful lace design, and this yarn was the perfect choice. The speckles in the Silver Bush popped and the subtle pink splashes gave it a soft glow.
